Yaaawn ... after a good night out with friends, yawning visibly as I think of how to implement the "ritual" New Year's Eve menu at the home of Mark. Have a great holiday, after all. In fact the whole year was very intense: many good news, but other situations on the edge of disaster. And I will not talk about the socio-political situation ...
Doing the sums, it is even. And these holidays I have refreshed the right to poter iniziare nuovamente con rinnovato vigore.
Propositi per il nuovo anno? Fare un film con Franco Nero, ovviamente.
Scherzi a parte, dato che ogni anno lo faccio, parte l'elenco aspettative per l'anno che verrà:
- non mi dispiacerebbe stare meglio in salute (anche se già quest'anno s'è recuperato abbastanza);
- non mi dispiacerebbe lavorare il giusto: nonostante le disperate richieste d'aiuto quest'anno ho fatto il lavoro di almeno quattro persone e la cosa mi ha rotto le palle non poco. Non quattro specifiche, ovviamente: Brunetta e Gelmini hanno devastato ciò che già era pessimo e siamo ridotti all'osso come personale quindi...
- non mi dispiacerebbe se questo governo si togliesse dalle balls. Forever. The damage they have made to the Italian people is immeasurable. But do not talk about the administrative, or that payment of compensation: those are damages that can be solved. The social damage is rather difficult to resolve: we are a country on the edge of civil war, where one in three Italian is careless of the future, selfish and believe that the rules are there only to be broken for personal gain, without any scruples. Ho aspettato l'uscita del secondo volume di X-Men Forever prima di volerne parlare, anche se, devo dire, non è stato altro che una conferma delle impressioni che avevo avuto leggendo il primo. Il presupposto di queste storie,in realtà, è una sorta di "what if": solo che il "cosa sarebbe successo se", stavolta non riguarda un'azione compiuta dai personaggi, ma dall'autore Chris Claremont. What would happen then, if he continued to write Claremont's X-Men in the 90s?

Altra chicca che mi ha infatti commosso è stato vedere nuovamente all'azione Paul Smith (chi non ricorda la splash page con Kitty Pride che da dell'idiota al Professor Xavier? I lacrimoni, vi giuro...).
Lo status quo della squadra in continua discussione, colpi stage one after another, old characters returning completely folded, the total lack of respect for the "fanservice" (Wolverine killed in his moment maximum), the apparent break the continuity to include plots and subplots that unfold in long arcs (Corsaro on earth that grows .... Cable?) and, above all, to have anticipated twenty years before the tumultuous events of today are only made (yes, I believe that this is so: after all, only he could conceive years before the rupture between Cyclops and Phoenix, the future of the mutants long before the tragic legacy of the virus and so on) ... Basically volumes are imperdibili e spero ardentemente la Panini ne continui la traduzione e distribuzione. Unica cosa che mi manca è un po' il caos di quegli anni tra tutte le squadre pubblicate, qui relegate a comparse, che, per quanto ingestibile, rendeva divertente la lettura degli X-Men, vedi ad esempio tutta la saga del "Re delle Ombre" ed il suo finale.
Per chiudere, le mie scuse ad Al Milgrom: alla fine, dopo anni, in realtà realizzai che non era male come inchiostatore, bontà sua.

Il mio ultimo post risale a giugno. Nel frattempo è successo di tutto. Altroquando non ha chiuso, la polmonite mi ha provato un bel po', con una vicenda molto fortunata e fortuita sono ritornato a vivere in città lasciando i boschi, Being a father takes me inordinate amount of time ... Fortunately, at this moment, the creature sleeps. And, taking advantage of this, do a "svecchiatina" to the blog, if not more to keep me in exercise. I intend to go back to writing the usual cows, maybe this time cataloging. In the meantime, settle for a short list that I have to run, taking advantage of sleeping in my little miniature earthquake, to finish the designs for a friend of mine. Forget it, the phone regularly, like every Sunday, and the alarm clock rings. The grandfather wants his grandson dose of ... End of the moment of calm.
